Renewable Energy

Alberta Infrastructure is 100% Green Powered

Alberta Infrastructure first began using electricity from renewable sources in 2005 and its commitment to using renewable energy was instrumental in helping establish some of Alberta’s first Wind Farms. Since 2009, Alberta Infrastructure has supplied government owned facilities with 100% EcoLogo certified electricity. Using Green Power reduces the government’s carbon footprint by an estimated 159,000 Metric Tonnes of CO2 per year – the equivalent to taking over 30,000 vehicles off Alberta’s roads.

Solar Power Installations:

Alberta Infrastructure recognizes the role renewable technologies are going to play in the future wellbeing of this Province – lucky for Albertans, Alberta is a wealth of wind and solar resources. In addition to its Green Power contracts (which supply government buildings with electricity generated from Alberta wind farms) Alberta Infrastructure has solar installations on eight government facilities with three more under development.
